Aerobuzz: ECA Group to supply 680 aircrafts with Emergency Locator Transmitters
ECA Group, has been awarded several contracts to supply distress beacons. These Emergency Locator Transmitters (ELTs) are meant to equip 680 single-aisle aircrafts.

ECA Group, through its recently acquired subsidiary ELTA, has been awarded several contracts to supply distress beacons for a total amount nearing 3 M €. These Emergency Locator Transmitters (ELTs) are meant to equip 680 single-aisle aircrafts in Asia, Europe and the United States.
ECA Group will deliver the fixed and portable automatic beacons directly to the assembly lines of the aircraft manufacturers. More than 26,000 ELTs have already been installed.
ELT distress beacons are used by search and rescue authorities to locate an aircraft in distress. They are designed to activate automatically upon impact or manually by an operator. Currently, these systemas are installed in most civil aircraft. The development of this mandatory equipment follows rigorous processes to comply with regulatory standards. "
