Al Defaiya: ECA Group & Ifremer to develop A6K utra deep inspection AUV

The new utra-deep A6K AUV will be developed by both ECA Group and Ifremer to perform mapping and inspection mission at 6000m depth. The first dives are to be expected in 2019.

The new utra-deep AUV will be able to perform wide coverage acoustic mapping as well as optical inspection, by hovering close to the sea floor. The A6K AUV will enable to easily produce accurate georeferenced, wide area, high resolution and multi parameter representations of deep water marine environment. First dives are to be expected in 2019, after three years of development.
