Mine Warfare at Drones time

Keeping people away from dangerous areas. That is the goal of current developments in the field of underwater mine warfare.
Therefore, drones have been developed to detect, classify, localize, identify and neutralize submarine threats. World-leader for its know-how in the mine warfare area, France is at the forefront of this subject. According to the future mine-fighting system program (SLaMF) designed to ensure continuity of the current mine hunters of French Navy, the Directorate General of Armament has launched in 2009 the research program called ESPADON.
