NEWS EURONAVAL 2016 - Harbor protection survey by AUVs: ECA Group A9-M AUV & change detection proces
During Euronaval (17-21 October 2016), ECA Group will present is concept of change detection processing operational concept for harbor protection based on AUV survey. Combined with navigational capabilities of the ECA Group AUV A9-M, the change detection module is now available in the data processing software suite developed by ECA.
In congested areas of ports, detection of new objects (like underwater IED) is complex. In addition, on port authorities’ requirement, the traffic during the survey mission is non-interruptible. ECA Group offers a solution combined its A9-M AUV and Data processing algorithm to meet these challenges.

The use of an AUV A9-M allows flexibly identical tasks at regular intervals, while maintaining normal operations in port. His altitude tracking very close to the bottom is a great advantage compared to surface vehicle or towed sonar.

The change detection method permits to differentiate new object versus objects know since last survey.
New algorithm for image coregistration was developed to assist the operator during the search of underwater IED threats.
The ECA Group software suite associated with the A9-M AUV system allows an aid to early detection of new contacts through the use of elastic shifting algorithm.
