ROV Planet: ECA Group extends its aerial drone capabilities to naval applications
ECA Group expands the capabilities of its IT180 UAV mini-drone to maritime applications and associate with DCNSfor the studies needed to integrate this drone on ships.

The IT180 UAV is a compact, high-performance mini-UAV IT180 UAV VTOL, which can be complementary to VTOL UAV s of the higher categories, and is specifically designed to meet the specific requirements of naval missions.
ECA Group participated in the second edition of “Naval Innovation Days” in Ollioules (South of France). On the occasion of this event, DCNS associated ECA Group, to the multi-drones demonstration organized by DCNS by im plementing its mini-UAV VTOL IT180 as part of an interception scenario in the Toulon harbor.
In addition, ECA Group has developed many use of the IT180 UAV mini-drone for naval defence applications including mine detection, radio relaying and magnetic risk management. The latter, STERNA – the solution based airborne drone for measuring the magnetic signature of ships - was awarded at the Euronaval Tradeshow in 2016 and was later chosen by Asian Navy to equip its ships. This IT180 UAV mini-drone navalization project is one of the latest innovative developments for the group, which is positioning itself as the first UAV system conceptor in the sector.
