Italian Navy showcases its FREMM Simulator developed by ECA Group

Italian Navy attended the 55th edition of the international nautical exhibition in Genova. The Navy, willing to approach future seamen and share the experience of sailing on board of a modern warship, showcased the portable FREMM simulation system provided by ECA Group.
The FREMM simulator, delivered by ECA Group to the Italian Navy in 2013, is a compact and portable realistic simulator, including all the equipment that Officers of the watch have to use to conduct the ship. Sitting on the Commanding Officer’s chair, the trainee can learn how to pilot the ship having the same behaviour of the real FREMM, following the manoeuvre through the external vision display, planning the route on the electronic chart (ECDIS) and avoiding collisions through the navigation radar.
This immersive simulation training system developped by ECA Group for the Italian Navy is actually in use for the training of Officers and Sailors in all the Italian training centres.
