The French group ECA develops and manufactures robot systems since 1936 to carry out complex missions in hostile environments, in the civil and military fields. With more than 50% of its turnover made thanks to exports, the company is renowned worldwide for its expertise and innovative technological prowesses. The industrial center of La Garde is specialized in the engineering of underwater equipment and the design of naval, aerial and ground defence drones, a sector in very strong growth. A cutting-edge activity that allows ECA Group to be "a symbol of innovation and an example of French - and internationally - recognized excellence": as the Mayor Jean - Claude Charlois and The deputy Jean-Louis Masson felicitates.
Alongside the Minister during this visit, the delegation attended a demonstration of examples of equipment in service in the largest armies in the world. To start with the K-STER, a mine-clearance vehicle that produces a powerful shockwave, and whose ancestor the PAP (Auto Propelled Fish) is still used by the French Navy. They were also able to discover some of the robots and drones devoted to the civilian market such as the AUV A18D underwater autonomous vehicle used for scientific research. At the end of her visit, Mrs. Florence Parly praised the "agility and ability to innovate!" of the employees of the group and evoked the future relations between the industrials in the Var region and the Defense sector, which is intended to be "intensified in the years to come"
