Le Marin : The French Navy awards ECA Group a new contract for PAP demining robots consumables

The Tripartite Mines Chasers (CMT) have not said their last word, despite the planned replacement of the drones: the French Navy has decided to re-order anti-mine components of submarine mine-action robots PAP (self-propelled fish) to the Var region based ECA group, within the framework of a five-year contract ranging from € 4 million to € 8 million.

ECA Group refers to the purchase of "consumables" and not full robots. The saline environment and, of course, the operational activity in contact with mines abolish the potential. The Valorous Self-Propelled Fish (PAP) has been in operation since 1977: it allows both reconnaissance for the demining divers and the disposal of explosives nearby. It should remain in service at least until 2025. If the current budgetary restrictions do not shift its succession.
