ECA Group has been awarded a five-year contract by the French Navy to supply consumables and spares for the PAP demining remotely operated vehicles (ROVs).
ECA Group has been awarded a five-year contract by the French armed forces to supply consumables and spares for the PAP demining remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) which have been in use within the French Navy since the 1970's
The value of the contract is over $4.5 million.
The Pap mine disposal vehicles will remain in service until the mid-2020s, when they will be progressively replaced by the systems being developed under the French/UK MMCM programme.
In its latest configuration, PAP MK6 is a self-propelled ROV deployed to carry out mine warfare activities. The ROV’s robust and reliable design with high powered propulsion allows it to manoeuver in strong current and withstand harsh environmental conditions.
