Shephard : Kazakhstan Navy’s UMIS completes Sea Acceptance Trials

The 10750E class mine countermeasures (MCM) vessel will survey and protect the North Eastern coasts of the Caspian Sea using ECA Group's UMIS system in autonomous mode to keep the ship and its crew safe and out of danger's area.

The UMIS system consists of the autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV)A9  and identification and mine disposal vehicle K-STER - both equipped with high resolution sonar and video camera; and a single multifunction console that integrates the mission management software suite.

UMIS can perform diverse unmanned MCM operations, including initial seabed survey, target detection and classification down to final identification and neutralization.

In addition, the A9 AUV and K-STER will also provide maritime surveillance capabilities to the Kazakhstan Navy.
