ECA Group's new remotely operated vehicle (ROV) H300-V launched in February 2017 is dedicated to observation and inspection missions in harsh environments.

"A new release of the ECA Group H300 ROV series, the H300-V have been developed to meet the demands associated with operating in harsh environments.

According to Philippe Roumegue, ECA Group Sales Director - Robotics Department - ROVs,

There are two main reasons for this new version of ROV H300. The first is the need to enhance speed performances and all-directions operating quality of the vehicle, leads us to equip this ROV with four vectored thrusters.

The second is the growing demand to work with an ECA Group ROV having the same properties than the H800 ROV but specialized for shallow waters at a maximum of 300m depth. The great success of our ROV H800 (4.5 knots - 1,000m depth) has convinced us to develop a compact and portable 300 m version.

Designed and tested upon a full range of requests coming from users worldwide, the new H300-V ROV is equipped with 4 horizontal vectored thrusters and can reach speeds up to 3.5 knots.

"V stands for 'vectored thrusters' and in comparison to H300 MK2 standard model which does not have this option," Roumegue explained. "With its 3.5 knots performances, the H300-V ROV can work in very harsh underwater conditions."

H300-V integrates a navigation B&W TV camera as standard, as well as one inspection color zoom TV camera with optical zoom mounted on a genuine pan and tilt unit. Combined with auto heading and auto depth functions, the ROV is able to record videos and data under strong current at 300m depth.

Its payload capabilities up to 15kg enables to equip it with any type of sonar, USBL, electric manipulator arms, altimeter with auto altitude function, among others.

Its portability of less than 80 kg in standard configuration and its integrated PSU into CCU enables to transport this equipment easily from site to site

The H300-V is already in operation four systems were delivered to an Asian Navy. ECA Group also confirmed to have other orders received from Middle East, Europe and Asia."
