ECA Group will develop an ultra-deep autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) withing the framework of a contract with Ifremer, The AUV named A6K will be able to perform to survey and inspection missions and reach 6000 meters depth.

The A6K AUV will be able to handle wide coverage acoustic mapping and optical inspection, by hovering close to the sea floor. The A6K AUV will enable to easily produce high resolution and multi parameter representations and data survey of deep water marine environment. First dives are to be expected in 2019, after three years of development.
