ECA Group promotes silicone carbide (CIS) technologies at the 6th convention "Port of the Future"

ECA Group participated in a roundtable discussion in the presence of M. François LAMBERT, Adviser for Sea, Overseas, ports and water transport, and Mr. François PHILIZOT, Prefect and interdepartmental Delegate for the development of the Seine valley. This roundtable was the occasion for ECA Group to promote the work carried on the project SEP CAP. The work will enable within 4 years to have an innovative fuel cells propulsion solution, incorporating electrical converters equipped for silicon carbide (CIS)  technologies.

SEP CAP project partners are: DCNS, MAURIC Office, University of NANTES.

The work done on this project will enable ECA Group to offer the naval civil market for both water and maritime transports (passenger vessels, fishing boats, transport ships), with an innovative and environment-friendly solution for electrical propulsion systems. This project is also the opportunity for ECA Group to assert its technical expertise in the design of static converters equipped with the latest silicon carbide power technologies.
The results obtained with such technology are much better compared to the silicon-based equipment and enables to draw the greatest possible benefit from integrating fuel piles on ship.
