In order to meet the needs of the operational forces, ECA Group has developed the drone IT 180 ( named "DROGEN"), adapted to the missions SRI (intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance) and ISTAR (target acquisition). The aerial drone IT 180 also allows to "survey the progression of convoys and support the maneuver of the units", reports the industrialist. Finally, this mini counter-rotating drone can conduct rescue missions for the benefit of rescue units or "forest fire monitoring, as for example within the French fire fighters unit SDIS 13".
Designed for operational missions, this Unmanned Aerial Vehicle can be used in complex environments and withstands winds up to 60 km / h. Depending on the configuration chosen, the IT 180, which can operate within a radius of 30 km from its ground station, has a range of 30, 60 or 120 minutes.
Regarding its payload, the drone IT 180 can carry up to 5 kilos. In addition to a camera, it was designed to be able to embeds an "electronic intelligence IMSI-catcher module".
ECA Group is responsible for integrating the sensor on-board. This technology makes it possible to identify the communication exchanges made around the monitored area. The IMSI Catcher can be very useful for surveillance missions.
It can be integrated on the captive version of the drone that allows to observe and secure for several hours sensitive sites or military installations.
At the same time ECA Group managed to develop a STERNA configuration, allowing to integrate a magnetometer on the drone to measure the electromagnetic signature of a boat.
Already used in Mali, more than a hundred IT 180 have already been sold.
